Chevening Scholarships


The British Embassy invite applicants for Chevening Scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year. Successful candidates will study for a post-graduate university degree in the United Kingdom. The Chevening Scholarship covers tuition fees and a return flight to the UK, as well as the costs of enrollment at at British university and living costs for up to a year in the UK.

Who can apply ?

Candidates must :

Hold a bachelors degree or equivalent ;

Have excellent written and spoken English, to the level needed to secure a place at a UK university ;

Have a minimum of three years professional experience.

We particularly welcome applicants who wish to study or have experience in the following fields :

1. Inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue

2. Good governance and human rights

3. Security, policing and the judiciary

4. Conflict resolution

5. Environment

6. Crisis management and contingency planning

7. Media professionalism and capacity-building

8. Migration

How do you apply?

Candidates should submit completed application forms, accompanied by a CV and two letters of recommendation, to the British Council no later than 24 December 2009. All documents must be submitted in English.

The Chevening programme does not fund PhD or MBA courses, or courses in English language or literature.
